Since 2006, the number of foreign companies in the region of the Frankfurt/Main has risen by 24 per cent
Nearly 15,300 companies have foreign roots. That is every sixth company. Most of the international companies in Frankfurt are from Poland, Turkey and Italy. 32 per cent of foreign firms are registered in the commercial register (HR). 68 per cent are small businesses. Two thirds of foreign companies are from European Union states. US-American ventures form the largest group of foreign businesses registered in the commercial register. 628 companies in the commercial register are from the USA, followed by 484 companies from Turkey and 445 from Great Britain.
