Dear Readers,

As the summer draws to a close here in Germany, we’re pleased to report that leading companies have taken advantage of the season to invest in new facilities and expand in Hessen. Our state’s reputation as a prime location for foreign direct investment (FDI) continues to grow, especially in the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, bio- and medical technology, and chemical engineering sectors. This quarter, companies from France, the United States and Denmark have chosen Hessen, drawn by our thriving business and R&D ecosystems.

Hessen’s appeal lies not only in its central location and business-friendly environment but also in its robust infrastructure, which supports innovation and industry growth. Whether developing state-of-the-art facilities or pioneering new technologies, our state remains at the forefront of industry advancement.

In this issue, we spotlight some of the key developments that have taken place:

Sanofi plans to build a state-of-the-art insulin production facility at its BioCampus in Frankfurt’s Höchst district, aiming to bolster the supply of energy-saving-produced insulin for people with diabetes and strengthen Europe’s supply security.

Smithers will soon open a new drug delivery device testing lab near Frankfurt, strategically located to bring capabilities closer to clients and expand global capacity.

Novonesis opens one of the world’s largest and most advanced facilities focused on bacteria for meat and prepared foods in Pohlheim, adding to Hessen’s strong position in the global biotech industry.

INERATEC introduces groundbreaking production of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) in support of German development project, building the world’s largest power-to-liquid plant in Frankfurt to produce synthetic, climate-friendly e-fuels.

I hope you find this news both interesting and insightful. As always, if you have any questions or would like to learn more about the latest developments in Hessen, please don’t hesitate to contact our team. We’re here to help you navigate the opportunities our state has to offer.
