Dutch Ambassador visits Hessen to strengthen key trade partnerships
Ambassador Ronald Van Roeden’s recent visit to Hessen highlighted the robust trade partnerships between Hessen and the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is one of the most important sources of foreign direct investment in Hessen. Ronald Van Roeden, Dutch Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, recently visited Hessen to bolster business relations between his country and our state.
The trip began in Wiesbaden with a meeting at Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH, where he met with CEO Dr. Rainer Waldschmidt to discuss potential avenues for strengthening investment and trade relations. From there, the ambassador visited Heimathafen, an innovative business hub, where he gained insights into Hessen’s vibrant entrepreneurial scene.
A key item on the ambassador’s agenda was a meeting with Astrid Wallmann, President of the Hessian Parliament, to discuss political and economic issues and foster deeper mutual understanding. Enhancing bilateral economic cooperation was the topic of further talks with Hessen’s Minister of Economics, Kaweh Mansoori.
The ambassador’s tour of Hessen ended in Dillenburg in central Hessen, where he visited the Lahn-Dill Chamber of Commerce and Isabellenhütte, a family-run company specializing in precision measurement technology, to discuss topics such as industry supply chains and precision engineering. In a speech at the summer reception of the Lahn-Dill Chamber of Commerce, the ambassador reinforced the importance of cooperation and economic ties in Europe.
The visit underscored the Netherlands’ continued interest in Hessen as a key investment destination and trade partner. Throughout the productive discussions, many touchpoints for future cooperation were identified, demonstrating the opportunities for mutual growth and development.
