From the third quarter of 2025, ID Logistics will operate a 68,000 m² e-fulfillment center in Diemelstadt in Northern Hessen between Paderborn and Kassel. From the new ESG-compliant logistics facility, the contract logistics provider will distribute parcels nationwide from a warehouse range of up to 1.9 million small and medium-sized items.

The contract is a tailor-made e-commerce logistics solution for the customer, with a large variety of items and a wide range of order quantities and high-speed implementation (same day / next day orders).

“We deliver everything from a single source and with a high level of agility: from the planning of the logistics concept and our specialisation in complex e-commerce solutions, all the way to customised real estate solutions and a concept developed in-house for personnel recruiting and personnel deployment management. This enables us to achieve both process and cost efficiency for our customers, especially for complex projects,” explains Robin Otto, CEO of ID Logistics Germany.

ID Logistics has many years of experience in Germany in setting up and implementing complex large-scale projects in logistics centers and brings in the necessary willingness to invest not only in the buildings but also in the interior fittings. In Diemelstadt, ID Logistics is investing 20 million euros in intralogistics alone, including extensive storage, picking and conveying systems, including sorting systems.

At the start, ID Logistics will employ 300 people in four of the six units of the large logistics center. As with every ID Logistics start-up, they will be supported by experienced mentors from other ID Logistics locations in Germany and internationally. At full capacity from 2026, a peak of around 600 to 700 employees are planned in 3-shift operation in all six halls.

Andreas Fritz, Mayor of Diemelstadt, is delighted that ID Logistics is settling here: "The establishment of a modern, innovative and sustainable company and employer like ID Logistics Germany is a very positive signal for our town. This will benefit Diemelstadt as well as its citizens and the entire surrounding area. The logistics park with direct highway access will create new jobs for the region and further strengthen and supplement the local economy."

The Diemelstadt logistics park is a joint project by logistics real estate specialist developer Scannell Properties and ID Logistics and will be completed in the third quarter of 2025 in accordance with the DGNB Gold Standard. Located in the heart of Germany, the Diemelstadt logistics park offers excellent infrastructure with its 24/7 operation and direct access to the A44 and B252 highways between Kassel/Bad Hersfeld and Paderborn, as well as the A33 and A7 highways.

“The park certainly represents an ambitious project and is ideally suited for large-scale national and European distribution activities. We are delighted that ID Logistics, an experienced large-scale logistics provider, will be putting the space into operation immediately after completion and utilising it in its entirety,” reports Jan Imfeld, Country Manager Germany at Scannell Properties. “On behalf of Scannell Properties, I would like to expressly thank the city, whose tireless efforts made the development in Diemelstadt possible in the first place. The ongoing positive cooperation with the project team has characterised our collaboration over the last few years.”
